Now it may come as no surprise that since I am from the Pacific Northwest I have a certain view on political ideology. This ideology includes that of the
Republic of Cascadia. I honestly believe that our way of living here in the Pacific Northwest differs greatly from that of crowded East-Coast living and has lost touch with its constituents. I believe this is similar to soccer in the United States. Consistently in Major League Soccer it can be seen that Western teams dominate the soccer scene. 14 of the 20 MLS cups have been won by western teams (as the league is arranged as of 2016); 8 of these times it was won by a team on the west coast. Recent dominance has been evident as well with most recently 9 of the last 10 MLS cups won by western teams.
Soccer seems to be the calling card for Cascadia with the teams in the region with Cascadia teams going to the playoffs 10 times since 2011 as well as winning the cup in 2015. In fact, all Cascadia teams since 2011 to 2015 have an average points per season record of 49.5. It is no doubt that Cascadia reigns, in the teams now 5 years of existence in MLS (7 for the Sounders) Cascadia teams have brought home a MLS Cup, 4 U.S. Open Cups, one Supporters Shield and a Amway Canadian Championship.
Update 2017: Make that two MLS Cups...
